For pest elimination solutions, we use the maximum legal concentration of a chosen insecticide that has low mammalian toxicity. While not recommended, a child or pet can safely touch surfaces after the insecticide has dried.  

We focus on applying chemicals to nest attachment surfaces around your property, such as eaves, rooflines, louvered shutters, foundation gaps in siding, and deck support beams. This insecticide is effective for wasp control as well as yellow jacket extermination, targeting carpenter bees, wasps, hornets, and spiders, neutralizing them after persistent contact.

It is normal to see WASPS and other insects flying around as they forage for pollen and nectar while preying on other insect species. These insects must repeatedly land on treated surfaces for the dried chemical to accumulate in their bodies, which is part of our pest elimination solutions. Our efforts in wasp control will lower the frequency of these sightings to an acceptable level. While it’s beneficial when we see a decline, we don’t anticipate eliminating insects completely, either inside or outside your property.

If a nest has been disturbed, you may notice an increase in sightings, particularly with yellow jackets. Over a week’s time, you may observe a gradual or sudden drop-off in their numbers. It's possible to see them in high peaks, but that shouldn’t be alarming when they are out of reach.

The insecticide will remain active for about a 90-day life cycle as it degrades in UV light, rainwater, and humidity. The Environmental Protection Agency collaborates with manufacturers to formulate pest elimination solutions that are safe for pollinators, mammals, and the environment. In cases of heavy infestations, you may need a second treatment after the insecticide has exceeded its effective life cycle. Preventive treatments, especially for wasp control, are often reported to be effective for an entire season when applied in the spring, particularly if we are not starting with a large neighborhood infestation.

Next year, consider having us treat in the early spring as a preventative measure against those neighboring insects, like yellow jackets, who are seeking nesting opportunities. You can even encourage your neighbors to build an insect barrier around your neighborhood. As their homes are treated either by us or by their own preferred applicator, you will create that effective barrier.
